A little while ago I started a small project to take candid shots of strangers as a way of building confidence in taking portraits. After some delay I finally got around to continuing with this endeavour this past weekend while visiting the Contact Photo Festival in Toronto. This is Katia, a talented photographer and installation artist who had a wonderful display of work in the Gladstone Hotel (check it out until May 24th), many thanks to her for agreeing to let me take her portrait. Since both portraits now have been taken on Queen Street, I plan to continue this theme and stake a goal of 100 portraits of strangers on the same stretch of road in Toronto - "The Queen Street Portrait Sessions" ;) |
