OK, so sooner or later I was going to give one of these smoke shots a try and I have to tell you they are not as simple as they look :) The first night was spent getting the camera settings to work out, the second for lighting and focus improvement and finally the third to refine lighting and technique. Each evening I'd go through about 2 incense cones before giving up for the evening - I did this last week and the basement still smells of incense :) So after all that, here is an image that I rather like - all in all it was a lot of fun - this type of thing would cost a small fortune on film.
